RESPONSIBILITIES

A. JOB OBJECTIVE

• Overall responsibility and accountability for supply on time in full for stores to required standards of quality, cost, planning, delivery and safety.
• Overall responsibility and accountability for the Manufacturing included manpower & budgeting for production volume, quality assurance, supply planning and SHE function.
• Ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff.
• Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Manufacturing function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and facilitated, direct and drive implementation of Lean Business strategy and drive.
• Continuous Improvement across all manufacturing related areas of the business.

B. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Production:

• Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
• Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
• Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
• Assists Supply Unit Head with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
• Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
• Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
• Works with chief financial officer to develop operating budget.
• Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
• Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.

2. Production planning:

• Responsible for overseeing the flow of materials and other resources through an organization.
• Work with a variety of stakeholders to determine what products should be produced, how much for inventory.
• Develop a team of Supply planners to accurately forecast and ensure supply planning.
• Balance inventory and supply planning while maintaining targeted customer service levels.
• Lead special projects related to product launches, line extensions, and various supply chain initiatives.

3. Quality Assurance:

• Responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards in a production company.
• Help develop, protect, and audit all processes that may impact certain qualities.
• Analyze data in order to find areas for growth.
• Training, motivating, coaching, and correcting employees to ensure that standards are met.
• Formulate strategies to increase productivity.
• Review processes in order to ensure that they align with current trends.

4. Health safety and environment:

• Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
• Review environmental strategies that impact on future ways of operating and ensure implementation where possible.
• Review the use of technological systems that support a more environmentally friendly approach.
• Review opportunities to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least ten years of experience in industrial management required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
• Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing.
• Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
• Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
